The more things change...
Published in 1970, The Wall Street Jungle by Richard Ney is a full-scale indictment of the ethics and methods of the stockbrokers, bankers, and corporate officers on Wall Street, even charging, "there is more sheer larceny per square foot on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange than any place else in the world." This was a New York Times bestseller in 1970, but is out of print today. It looked like a truly amazing book. Two sayings come to mind. The first is "those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it," and the other is "the more things change, the more they stay the same."
