Really complicated shower in the Presidential Suite

There is way too much going on here for a shower. Also, what is up with the metal box on the wall, as well as the pipe in the corner that doesn't go all the way to the floor? The tiles on the wall are nice, but you can also clearly see that the shower floor was quite dirty.
