First signs of life
This is where shit got weird. Hitting the stairwell in the tower from the lobby, we immediately noticed construction string lights and, strangely, the first few floors of the tower were energized and the hallway lights were on. Also, as you can see, the carpeting was deteriorated. Guests might have used this hallway if they did not want to take the elevator for any reason. More guests walked than you might have expected, as the quality of the elevators was one of the common complaints of guests in the hotel's final years.
