Avaya digital PBX attendant console and line commander
In the foreground is an attendant console for an Avaya digital PBX. Reflecting the sheer number of telephone lines they had, in the background, is a line commander, which suggests they had the capacity to handle many simultaneous phone calls. Despite the age of the telephone system, it clearly supported many advanced calling features. This was in an office behind the front desk, but there was also a "telephone room" which we did not come across. Also in this picture is a Motorola base station push-to-talk microphone.
