Caution: reduced salt area sign
Drivers that live outside the northeast might not understand this uncommon sign warning of the "reduced salt area". A reduced salt area is a designated stretch of highway that receives less salt treatment during icy winter months, usually due to nearby watersheds whose ecosystems would be damaged by the salt. Of course, if you don't know that, it's hard to react properly to this sign.
