Pedestrian access to Route 1 / 9
Strangely, there is a concrete staircase leading from the track level up to the Route 1 / 9 overpass nearby on the Main Line just before entering the tunnel to Hoboken, as if this were ever safe as a pedestrian thoroughfare. It does not appear there was any access control at the top of the steps.

The stairs are supposedly intended to get people off the train tracks if there were an emergency. I'm always shocked how decrepit the legacy Erie Lackawanna lines are even so close to the city.
