Chairlift control panel in operator's booth
Besides the usual start and stop controls, this control panel provided warning indicators in the event that a pylon's brittle bars were activated (potentially indicating the cable has slipped off a pulley). A telephone allowed the operator at the bottom of the lift to speak with the operator at the top. Often in chairlift operations, one operator is not aware of the trouble at the other end, but must be able to let the other operator know that it is safe to restart the prime mover.
