Access granted
This room was nearly always properly locked, however, after an incident where the third floor sprinklers were activated, it was opened to allow access to the sprinkler valve. Interestingly, this was the incident that led to the "sprinkler valve" signs being posted in dormitories. The sprinkler was activated when a dart (prohibited by Residence Life rules) accidentally struck the glass ampule in the sprinkler head, causing the vacuum seal to drop and allowing the water to flow. The firefighters were unable to find the sprinkler valve for just over a half hour. It caused fairly extensive water damage and students were forced to stay in a hotel overnight. I managed to sneak back into my room although the building was closed and slept in my own bed even though RestorePro workers were in my apartment pumping out water and setting up blowers.
