Yet another old light socket
In contrast to the other ceiling-hung light socket, it appeared that this socket was wired with a modern material like PVC or polyethylene. This socket also included a sliding switch, meaning that it could be independently switched on or off using the switch on the top of the socket, independent of any lights on the rest of the circuit. This was possibly because the socket was meant for a lamp, but was re-purposed and permanently mounted on the ceiling.
