The security system

I couldn't help but notice the active electric service to this house, and likewise, that the meter was spinning (albeit very, very slowly). It turned out that this light timer was the only active load in the house. Apparently the timer would switch on and off at night. Some people erroneously believe that this provides "security". Of course there is nothing in this house worth stealing, not to mention, a light would only reveal the vast emptiness to a potential bad guy.
