Loading dock courtyard behind main building
If you drive past the front entrance, under the overpass, to the loading dock, this is where you'd be. Notice an underground transformer in the foreground - yup, humming along at the owner's expense! A former staffer mentioned that the truck was purchased as a cost-saving measure, allowing the hotel to pick up supplies from vendors and avoid delivery fees. Interestingly, as the business declined, so did its employee skill set, and at some point in 2008, there was no longer any employee with the necessary class C license to drive the truck! The cost saving measure quickly became an expense as the truck sat there depreciating and accumulating insurance and registration fees. Also interestingly, though the business shut down, and the registration was allowed to expire, the plates were never surrendered.
