Long trail stair well

The stairwell as seen from the parking garage level of the Long Trail North building. One unusual feature of these buildings is that the fire escape from the parking garage is actually on the second floor. Those evacuating down the stairs in an emergency would be stopped by a swinging gate that guides escapees to avoid them from going down to the first floor or parking garage in the event of an emergency.
