Hydraulic elevator machinery
I always assumed this was an elevator motor, since it looked to be a hydraulic pump, but then I remembered that this was actually a cable drive elevator (even though the building was only three floors). Now I am not sure.

The blue object to the left is a compressor. Could be air, freon, or whatever. The small electric motor attached couldn't possibly drive an elevator. Curious, indeed!
