Notice to guests on the door
The notice, posted in every hotel room, similar to what's posted in every hotel room I've ever been in, reads: "A safe is provided in the Office for the Safekeeping of Money, Jewels, Ornaments, Bank Notes, Bonds, Negotiable Securities, and Precious Stones Belonging to Guests." The flagrant use of upper case in this bothers me. But also, this sign indicates its age just based on its list of common valuables that a guest might carry, especially "bank notes" and "negotiable securities". The only kind of negotiable securities where possession implies value are bearer bonds, which are virtually unused today.
