Western Electric Model 564 Key Telephone Set
This is just a guess, but it appears to be a Western Electric 564 Key Telephone Set, featuring 6 illuminated buttons, controlling 5 lines, plus a hold button. During its time, this was a rather advanced private telephone system, and the phone itself required a 25-conductor line cord, far more than the common 2- or 4-wire setups commonly found in hotels today. This phone made me think that this room was used primarily by employees, not guests, as guests would have no need for a 5 line telephone in the 1970s.
