Anti-electrocution loading dock elocution
A group of signs and a sloppily wired weatherproof telephone adorn the brick wall of the main loading dock. The phone is a Northern Electric weatherproof phone. The bizarre wiring configuration and sloppy electrical tape finish makes you wonder why they didn't try a little harder to do a better job (then again, it is the Catskills). The signs read:
"No deliveries accepted 12 noon to 12:30PM"
"All deliveries taken on basis of arrival except meat & fish deliveries which have first priority"
"Drivers - please do not unload your trucks until a receiving agent is on the dock. Thank you."
The signs were likely posted at separate times as the needs of the loading dock evolved, hence why they are non-contiguous, nor are they even placed in a linear fashion. Also, the black sign is too polite; "please" and "thank you" seem out of place compared to the other two more stern signs.
